The Weekly Writers' Workshop

This group is for those of us tired of reading 5 minutes of our work before receiving the kind of limited feedback that would be expected from someone who has only heard 5 minutes of our work. Those groups give a lot of people an opportunity to regularly share their writing, but do not help those who are striving to imminently improve.  

I believe feedback is only really helpful if the entire piece has been read. My vision for this group is more consistent with a college fiction workshop: each week, each member is assigned another member's full short story or nonfiction work. Then, during the meeting, there is a comprehensive discussion of that work. Depending on the lengths of the works, some weeks more than one piece could be workshopped. The details are flexible, of course.
