Poetry: Manuscripts & Publishing

Time: Every other Wednesday 9 to 11 PM AST

First Session: February 19, 2025

Methodology:

The point of this group is to help each other navigate the world of publishing at both the level of the individual poem and in the development of manuscripts. Open for discussion are the world of traditional, indie and self publishing. The group offers advice, resources, knowledge and encouragement. None of us know it all, and the current moderator is not a publisher. Together we can figure it out. Some of us have books out, some of us are still trying to get that first poem published by a literary journal. Come tell us about your project and let us help you make it happen.

Uploading: 

The group has a Google folder. Once you join and share your email with the moderator, she will add you to the folder. Only those added will be able to see the contents of the folder. You must use the email you provide to access the folder. You will be able to upload your work and read other people’s work. If you wish to make comments on the document, please do so as ‘suggesting’. If you don’t know how to make that happen, google it or ask. 

Resources:

There is an additional sub-folder called ‘Resources’ in which there will be links and other useful things. Please share your knowledge with us.

Zoom:

This is a zoom meeting. The link will be in the folder. The folder is restricted to members.

Note on Kindness:

This is not strictly a support group, but it is a group for professional writers. Constructive criticism is the only kind useful to us. Kindness is essential to both life and work, and we all come from different worlds. Remember: you are up next. That, we all share.
