About the Group
This group is for writers who don't just want to tell interesting stories but to use their art to explore the BIG IDEAS.
(Don't let the "Novel of" part throw you -- we'll take fiction of all lengths.)
I'm talking about books like:
- Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig
- Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Illusions by Richard Bach
- The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Our Town, and The Skin of our Teeth by Thornton Wilder
This kind of storytelling often requires experimental flourishes such as mixing genres, self-aware fictional characters, graphic elements, etc. Just because we're talking about the Big Ideas doesn't mean we can't have a little fun while we're at it.
I'd like to meet like-minded writers (and readers!) to explore the possibilities of the subgenre. For now, there's no format -- come in on the ground floor and we'll figure out what works best together.
