About the Group
Everyone has a story to tell.
Writing down our personal memories and unique histories is an important way to preserve who we are, honor our past, and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. Whether you say "I'm not really a writer" or you are a seasoned storyteller, this community is for you.
Genres & Areas of Interest:
We explore all forms of life writing, including memoirs, autobiographies, biographies, diaries, journals, poetry, letters, and family histories.
Experience:
Open to all levels.
Schedule:
Our monthly schedule balances feedback with dedicated writing time:
- First & Third Weeks: We meet to critique, discuss, and workshop submissions from group participants in a supportive space. (Constructive criticism only—critique the work, not the person).
- Second & Final Weeks: We host dedicated writing sessions to put pen to paper (or stare at the blank page), hold one another accountable, and share the creative space so you feel less alone.
Meeting Details:
Days and times will be collectively agreed upon once our core group of participants is established.
**A Note on Confidentiality: **
Because writing about our personal lives requires deep trust, everything shared within this group must strictly stay within the group.
