About the Group
- This is a silent writing time.
- Purpose: helping each other show up and write.
- Two separate opportunities on Wed. mornings: First session takes place 7:15-7:45 AM Eastern time. Second session takes place 10:15-10:45 AM Eastern time (which is 7:15-7:45AM Pacific Time.) The next set of Wednesdays for the fall will begin in a few weeks. Most will begin Sept. 16th. Participation is come to whatever you can, whenever you can.
- Video optional, but generally no distracting activity going on. (Turn off video if you need to/want to, especially if distractions enter field of view to others.)
- Microphones muted except for a brief minute or two at the beginning and end of the session.
- People work on their own projects (NF, F, poetry, etc.).
- Goal-sharing (in the chat section) is optional. Writing down brief thoughts on a goal for the week or the session can be helpful.
- Questions can be directed to me through P&W messages during the week or in the chat during a session. (SJ Cote)
- Suggestions for how you might choose to spend the time: make bullet lists related to your project, scene or poem; have a mini-freewriting session on an under-developed scene or chunk of your writing; start freewriting on a new topic of your choice; work on revising a draft or a chunk of a draft.
