About the Group
Time: Tuesdays 8 to 10 PM EST (5 to 7 PM PST)
Session A: The 2nd Tuesday of each Month. This is a Work Session in which accountability is the precedent. There is also the possibility for writing exercises, questions if you get stuck, etc.
Session B: The 4th Tuesday of the Month. Critique of each other's work: 4 critique sessions maximum (25 mins each)
Methodology:
The purpose of this group has two goals:
- The goal is for those who identify with the LGBTQIA2+ Community to have a safe place to develop their work, whether it is fiction, nonfiction, short stories, poetry, or something else. The priority is to foster your voice.
- This is a place where each member is accountable for writing whatever they desire. We want to be consistent in our writing. Your reviews can be one chapter, quarter, or short story; we just ask that you write. If we have a team of eight, the goal is that you submit once every other month.
Uploading:
The group will use the folder upload option within Poets & Writers. Please check the FAQ if you have any issues. If we have issues, we can set up options to share your content so people have time to read and critique your work.
Readings:
There will be a readings folder in the Google folder. The session date will be part of the name. You’ll find readings for sessions there. The readings will be there at least one week before the session. Please note any potential co-hosts.
Video Meeting:
This is a Jitsi meeting. The link will be on the members page, and a recurring meeting will also be set up for your calendars.

Note on Kindness:
This is a group for professional writers. We value constructive criticism, which is our only valuable resource. Kindness is essential to life and work; we all come from different worlds. Remember: speak how you want to be spoken to.
