About the Group
This is a reworking of an old group. The purpose of Persona Poetry is to inhabit the skin of the other--that is, those who are not us. For those who do not know what persona poetry looks like, I will give you a poem below:
The Simpsons as Told By Lisa
I wake up, and the horrible thunder
of morning greets me. Mornings are
a funny animal. They have fangs
and eyes, but no fur. I wish, like
thunder, that I was furry. Bullies
would fear me. Parents would stop
asking if I completed my homework.
I wake up, and the horrible thunder
of morning greets me. Like a wolf,
it echoes my cloud.
