Magical Realism Development and Critique

Magical Realism and Speculative Fiction (including Science Fiction) are likely the oldest and traditionally most popular in the literary arts, and the purpose of this group (in keeping with the goals of P&W) is to sharpen the skills and finished work of writers in these genres. Growing our collective audience is the ultimate ambition. We seek to recruit serious writers of long- and short-form magical realism and related genres who are willing to meet on a regular basis, to give and receive feedback on shared manuscripts written in English. Group members are urged to have a regular writing practice with intent to publish. The group is not intended for teaching and early practice development, or to provide inspiration and prompts for group writing, but may entertain occasional discussions about the form and function of writing in our chosen genres. Group decisions about online meeting times will be made by majority vote. The form of critique (written, oral) may be determined by the recipient, and group members will be held strictly to standards of conduct and respect in addressing the work of others.
