About the Group

One trend in memoir is to incorporate factual information on topics that are integral to the themes and events that occur in the work. For instance, a text about the writer's personal transformation after starting an organic garden in an urban housing project might share what the research/experts say about food sovereignty, horticulture therapy, and so forth.

I envision a small group of individuals working on such a piece (extended essay or memoir) who would like to discuss the challenges with pulling it off successfully (as in retaining a literary tone), engage in practice, provide accountability, and eventually provide constructive criticism.
