Anything Can Happen -- For advanced writers who have paid their dues

A small writing group for serious writers interested in independent thought, language and reading for pleasure. NOT for those who have picked up writing as retirees and not paid their dues -- pet peeve, sorry!) Any genre is welcome; it is your writing, focus and desire to give and receive that matter. 

We will meet at 5 or 6pm ET on Zoom or Google.  

My publications are mostly short novels; 52 Men, a Novel in Vignettes, (Red Hen Press), Since You Ask (Akashic Books) winner of the James Jones First Novel Award, Fiery World, a fairytale and, ongoing, The German Crowd: essays on violence and survival through art. I also have poems up online or through louisesays.com.

I work as a  mentor, manuscript asssessor, teacher of writing and Adjunct Profesor American and British Literature, and have worked in social services for marginalized peoples.

Favorite books: immersive traditional character driven fiction, German literature, American writers in all genres, and outlier books such as Coover's Briar Rose, Valtat's 03, Perec's W, or A Memory of Childhood.  Also Anne Carson, Amy Hempel, Robert Walser, Forrest Gander, Melissa Green, Li Young Lee and so many others.  Former five year reader of poetry for Tin House.
