About the Group

A small writing group for serious writers interested in independent thought, language and pleasure. NOT for those who have picked up writing as retirees nor studied/worked /read deeply in literature. Any genre is welcome, it is your writing, focus and ability to give and receive that matter.

We will meet at 5 or 6pm ET on Zoom or Google.

Besides writing (James Jones Novel Award, CNZ Grant etc) I work as a  mentor, manuscript asssessor, teacher of writing and Adjunct Profesor American and British Literature.)

Favorite books: immersive traditional character driven fiction, German literature, American writers in all genres, and outlier books such as Coover's Briar Rose, Valtat's 03, Perec's W, or A Memory of Childhood, work by Maggie Nelson, Anne Carson, Amy Hemel, Robert Walser, Walter Abish.  Former five year reader of poetry for Tin House. See the LARB for an essay on my novel in vignettes 52 Men,

I also like fun, invention, dedication and a sense of play. Life is short, let's make it mean something
